George Eliot Quote Card

Mary Ann Evans, known under the pen name of George Eliot, said, “It’s never too late to be what you might have been.”

Who are YOU meant to be? Mary Ann Evans was a leading writer of the Victorian era. She wrote seven novels under a male pen name so her works would be taken seriously. She didn’t let the cultural constraints of her time hold her back from being a novelist, journalist and translator. She also lived with a married man which was quite scandalous, particularly for those times. After he died, she married a long-time friend who was much younger than her—again, an unconventional choice. She then took his last name and became Mary Ann Cross.

Regardless of societal expectations or your current circumstances, it’s time to be who you are meant to be.

Start the real work of life, the expression of who you truly are. Be still and listen to your heart. Take time to understand your true desires versus inherited “shoulds.” Distance the doubters. Push fear aside and follow your passions. The world is waiting to experience the richness of your gifts.

Until next time, remember – it’s your divine life, live it to the fullest. The power is in your hands!

With Purpose & Power,

Terri
